Ensuring your pages are properly indexed is a fundamental step in improving your website’s SEO.

The first place to check is Google Search Console, which is a great resource for submitting your sitemap and determining if there are issues with any of your pages.

The second place to check is on Google itself via a Google search, although this method is more to give you a general idea rather than hard numbers.

so Kyle tell me how do you find if your
0:07
pages are indexed by Google
0:10
so usually I’m I go to two different
0:12
places
0:13
um you know if if I’ve got Google search
0:15
console set up I will jump into Google
0:18
search console and look to see if
0:20
sitemaps are in there
0:22
I wonder if I’ve got search console
0:26
hold up I can kind of share my screen
0:28
show you what that looks like but within
0:30
there there’s a place to see
0:32
uh there’s a place where you can submit
0:34
your your site map and from there it’ll
0:37
kind of give you a breakdown of what’s
0:39
what was found
0:41
how Google looked at all the different
0:43
urls
0:44
and so let’s see
0:49
okay here we go
0:51
so here’s Main Street go over to
0:53
sitemaps here on the left
0:56
and we can kind of go look at the
0:58
different sitemaps that have been
0:59
submitted this is a WordPress sites
1:01
obviously the sitelab.xml well it’s
1:04
using yoast so the sitemap.xml just
1:06
refers to other specific sitemaps I
1:10
think sitemap index is what it redirects
1:12
to
1:13
so you can kind of see here there’s
1:15
2476 discovered pages
1:17
and uh we click on that
1:21
‘ll give us in this case the other
1:24
sitemaps it links to so we’ll go to
1:27
page sitemap
1:30
you can kind of see 793 discovered pages
1:33
and we can click over here to see
1:36
the page indexing which is not clickable
1:38
right now
1:42
interesting
1:47
okay so it’ll work on this one set of
1:50
index
1:51
so if I click on that
1:53
um it’ll kind of show us
1:55
how many of them are indexed here in
1:56
green how many of them are not indexed
1:58
and six different reasons we just kind
2:00
of scroll down it’ll give us a little
2:02
bit of an idea of why Pages aren’t being
2:04
indexed so if you ever got like a page
2:06
that that isn’t indexed sometimes it’s
2:09
good to go jump into search console you
2:11
can inspect that particular page up at
2:13
the top
2:14
um but then you can also kind of see
2:16
down here
2:17
you know all these different reasons
2:19
Pages might not be indexed
2:21
um
2:22
another way to see if Google’s indexing
2:24
your site is just to jump over to Google
2:26
itself
2:28
so in like a Google search just type in
2:31
site colon and then the URL you’re
2:33
trying to check
2:34
and then Google will
2:37
as essentially searching this Google for
2:40
just page on your site and obviously if
2:43
it shows the pages on your site then
2:44
that shows that these Pages have been
2:46
indexed
2:47
um so you kind of see here in the home
2:49
page Services Pages Industries SEO
2:52
bundle
2:53
marketing tips Etc
2:56
um so that’s usually a good way we can
2:58
see there’s 1820 results here
3:01
um I don’t always
3:03
take this specific number as as law you
3:06
know we see this number definitely was
3:08
different from what was in search
3:09
console
3:11
um
3:12
if I don’t think I ever really look for
3:15
exact numbers but I do look for specific
3:17
Pages or specific types of pages
3:21
um and that those are the two best ways
3:22
I search for them
