Every month, we feature a member of our team here at Main Street ROI. This month, we’re featuring our Marketing Advisor, Kaitlin Smith.
How did you get into digital marketing?
My degree in college was Spanish with an emphasis on business and communication. While I enjoyed Spanish, the business side has had a much bigger influence on my post-collegiate career. I’ve worked in the sales and marketing fields in many capacities: working for several non-profits handling their digital marketing and most recently a local resource directory, which also helps advertise for small businesses. The next step to Main Street ROI just made sense.
What do you like most about working with small business clients?
Growing up, I worked at a small Sicilian restaurant in my hometown, which lead to several positions in the restaurant industry in college. As a server, I learned I was an integral part of the owner achieving success. After college, I worked for several non-profits and realized how much I need to feel like I’m making a difference in my job.
Working with small business clients, I truly feel like I’m making a difference for them. Helping their business grow is a huge motivator for me, and at Main Street ROI we can chart the growth from our services. I love that every small business started with a dream, and we can continue to help them grow.
What do you like most about working at Main Street ROI?
The details count! Every step along the process with Main Street ROI, the entire team cares and wants to be doing the best possible job for the client. Every small detail matters, and everyone wants to do their best for the clients.
Phil and Pete are constantly engaging the team members for feedback on how to make the company better. They take every opinion into consideration, and this channels through the entire team. Working with this team, makes me motivated to perform at my best.
What do you like to do outside of the office?
Spending time with my family is most important! These days whatever makes my little guy happy is usually what my husband and I are doing, which means a lot of baseball, beach, board games, reading and walks! Come Spring, we’ll be swimming again and cheering on our Cubbies, aka 2016 World Series Champs. Jogging is a hobby, as well, and I have plans to run my 2nd half this March.
